Mobbler Finally Gets Symbian Signed And Updated

Mobbler, easily one of the first apps I install on any Symbian-powered smartphone, has finally gotten itself Symbian Signed, releasing as v1.9 (265). The new update will also be available through the Ovi Store shortly, which is awesome and will be a huge boon for the team involved.

Mobbler v1.9 also includes the ability to set the currently playing track’s album art as your phone’s wallpaper, which is sort of fun, and includes an all-new logo, as well. Being Symbian Signed will also allow the team to work on even cooler integrations and features, so they definitely deserve a big congratulations!

If you already have Mobbler installed on your phone, you should be prompted to download the update automatically (cause they’re cool like that). If not, you can get setup by heading over to http://code.google.com/p/mobbler to download the latest client, or just keep an eye on the Ovi Store.

Going forward, the team will only be releasing Symbian Signed updates, though beta versions will still be released as self-signed.

Now, one problem that I have is that Mobbler is (as I understand) one of the few official mobile clients for Last.FM that is allowed to use the official API. However, it’s not mentioned *anywhere* on the official Last.FM website – let’s get that fixed, eh Last.FM?
